Everything you need to know about our photography sessions

Yes, you're welcome to bring personal props like a favorite blanket, toy, or outfit to make your photos more special. However, including the prop in the setup will be at the photographer's discretion, to ensure it matches the theme and gives you the best overall result.

We will discuss this with you in the pre-consultation call after you book a session with us & share the desired colour scheme for photoshoot after knowing your preferences. Usually we suggest simple, well-ironed clothes in soft or neutral shades. Avoid bold prints or logos. Prefer fabric textures over loud prints. Colour co-ordinated outfits look best for family pictures.

Of course! You can purchase an "add-on" if siblings & family members are not included in the package that you have selected. Just let us know in advance so we can plan the time and setups accordingly.

Our home-studio spaces can only accommodate limited members due to space constraints. Also we want our work to be distraction free for best results. So please note this-

To ensure the best experience and the highest-quality results, we kindly ask that you don't capture any photos, videos, or behind-the-scenes content during the session. We definitely don't want you to accidentally ruin the experience for yourself.

Hydrate well, get plenty of rest, and trust the process. We'll handle the details and guide you every step of the way.

Sessions usually take 45 mins to 4 hours, depending on the type of shoot and the baby's mood. We work at the baby's pace, allowing breaks when needed.

The best time is when your baby is between 5 to 15 days old. Babies sleep more and curl up easily for those cozy newborn poses. Hence, please plan your session well in advance.

Newborn portraits are thoughtfully captured images taken within the first few weeks of life, focusing on your baby in natural, softly posed positions. Our approach is minimal and timeless without excessive props or elaborate setups. Wrapping is kept subtle or may not be used at all, allowing us to focus on gentle, curled poses that highlight your baby's natural form. We sometimes put babies in cute outfits if suitable or if they allow to enhance the over-all elegance of the portraits.

We place special emphasis on capturing tiny details such as delicate fingers, toes, eyelashes, and expressions creating heartfelt, organic portraits that celebrate your newborn just as they are.

Please bring:

  • Plenty of wipes and nappies
  • An extra pair of clothes
  • A baby blanket you regularly use
  • Napkin and baby care kit
  • Baby hairbrush (if your baby has hair)
  • Formula milk (if used) - bring extra
  • Snacks for yourself, as the session can take a few hours.

We do not provide anything here due to health & safety reasons. Also one brand doesn't suit all!

Please avoid using kajal, hair oil, or any skin products on your baby unless discussed with the photographer. These products may not be suitable for a baby's sensitive skin and can cause discomfort during the session. These activities may also affect the overall image output making it not desirable for both of us! Please discuss beforehand if something is mandatory to apply to the baby as per paediatrician.

That's completely okay! We take breaks for feeding, cuddles, and diaper changes whenever needed. The sessions are baby-led.

No, for safety and hygiene reasons, we don't provide personal baby care items. Also one brand doesn't suit all. Please bring your own kit if needed.

Yes, we do offer in-home sessions at an additional cost of ₹5,000 on weekdays and ₹7,000 on weekends which covers additional TIME, assistance to set-up at your home & TRAVEL (up-to 7 kms only). Milestone sessions capture special stages & those cute expressions/actions of your baby's first year - like tummy time (3-5 Months), sitting (6-9 Months), crawling (7-10 Months), or turning one/pre-birthday (10 months -1 Year). And if you have missed previous milestones already (or) still want to capture more, we also offer to do up-to 2 year old portraits sessions.

Bring your baby's favorite toys, comfortable outfits, and snacks. A familiar blanket helps your little one feel relaxed.

Anywhere between 1 to 2 hours, depending on your baby's mood and the setups planned. We avoid longer duration & try to schedule the session in your baby's play time. Usually babies at this age give very less time & might get cranky if the shoot extends.

For larger families or gatherings with extended relatives, we also offer outdoor sessions, where natural surroundings bring warmth, depth, and a sense of togetherness to your portraits. Client Preparation Guides

Essential information and helpful tips to prepare for your photography session

Congratulations on your little one!
We're so excited to capture these precious early memories for you. To make your session smooth, relaxed, and enjoyable, please go through the following tips carefully.

1. Rest & Rejuvenate Before the Shoot

  • Parents, make sure you get plenty of rest the day before.
  • You'll look fresh and glowing in the photos, and your calm energy helps the baby stay relaxed too.

2. Eat Well & Stay Energized

  • Posing and being part of the session takes energy!
  • Have a healthy meal and stay well-hydrated before arriving so you can stay active and cheerful throughout.

3. Arrive Early

  • Please reach the studio 10 minutes early to get comfortable and settle in before we begin.
  • This helps both you and the baby ease into the session calmly.

4. Baby Preparation

  • Prior to the session: Give your baby a gentle massage and a cozy bath, as you do regularly in your routine. No new experiments here!
  • Then try to just keep them awake afterward. This is a great way to ensure they will sleep through the session most of the time.
  • Just before leaving: Feed your baby so they arrive sleepy, full, and content - perfect for those peaceful wrapped poses. Feeding and burping your infant right before your newborn photo session begins means less crying, better sleep, and relaxed parents (and photographer!)
  • Keep them in loose airy comfortable clothing, easy to remove once they are here. You can also swaddle them loosely in a warm fabric to keep them cozy. This also helps avoid any red marks on their skin due to tight clothing.

5. Positive Energy Only

  • Babies can sense your energy - so please stay calm, patient, and positive throughout the session.
  • Sometimes babies cry or need breaks, and that's completely normal.
  • Your smile and relaxed vibe make a big difference.

6. Baby's Safety Is Our Top Priority

  • We never force babies into any pose or prop they're not comfortable with.
  • Every setup and position is done with utmost care, gentleness, and support.
  • There should always be someone close to the baby at all times during the shoot.
  • Let go of expectations and simply enjoy watching your baby being wrapped, posed, and photographed in the cutest ways!

7. What to Bring

  • Baby essentials (Baby Hair comb, swaddling blanket, extra diapers, wipes, pacifiers, extra outfit).
  • A bottle of expressed breastmilk (or) formula milk whatever you prefer.
  • Snacks or water for parents.
  • Any special heirloom items, blankets, or accessories you'd like included in the photos.

Final Thought

Relax, trust the process, and enjoy this beautiful experience.
Newborn sessions are all about capturing your baby's pure innocence, tiny details, and love that fills your family.

Mindset

This session is about celebrating you and your journey into motherhood. You don't need to "pose perfectly". The most beautiful images come from simply being present and relaxed.

Why These Details Matter?

Paying attention to these small details helps us capture you in the best and most natural way possible, without relying heavily on editing.

While basic retouching is always included, some things (like unwanted hair, chipped nails, or uneven skin) are not always possible to correct perfectly in post-production. If extensive retouching is requested later, it may require additional editing time and fees.

Most importantly, overly edited images can start to look unnatural and may take away from what matters most - YOU. Our goal is to create timeless portraits that feel authentic, elegant, and true to who you are. So go through below guidelines & ensure you follow all the steps for a perfect look.

Maternity Attire Guidelines (Very Important)

The goal: timeless, elegant, and bump-focused.

Best Choices

  • Fitted or semi-fitted dresses that highlight your baby bump
  • Soft, neutral, or muted tones such as: cream, white, beige, blush, dusty rose, sage, olive, soft brown, muted blue or grey
  • Simple textures like ribbed fabric, lace, or soft knits

Fabrics That Photograph Well: Jersey knit, Chiffon, stretchy lace or soft cotton blends

Please Avoid: Busy prints or bold patterns, Logos, graphics, or text, Neon or overly bright colors, Shiny or stiff fabrics, Black (unless advised otherwise it can hide bump detail).

Undergarments: Nude, seamless underwear, strapless or well-hidden bras, avoid visible straps, seams, or shapewear lines.

Accessories & Styling

  • Keep jewelry minimal (studs, delicate necklaces)
  • Barefoot or neutral shoes photograph best
  • Avoid smart watches or hair ties on wrists
  • Bring lip balm for a quick refresh if needed

Grooming Guidelines

Professional hair and makeup is recommended if available.

Waxing / Hair Removal

Consider waxing or hair removal 3-4 days before your session. Smooth skin helps create clean, timeless images especially for close-up and studio portraits.

Makeup Tips

  • Natural, polished makeup photographs best.
  • Slightly more definition than everyday makeup is recommended.
  • Avoid heavy SPF or reflective products (highlighters/bronzers/metallics).
  • Matte or satin finishes work well on camera.

Hair Tips

  • Wash & condition your hairs a day before the shoot.
  • Soft waves, curls, or relaxed up-dos photograph beautifully.
  • Avoid overly tight or heavily styled looks.

Nails

Hands are often featured in maternity portraits. Neatly groomed nails in neutral or natural shades or co-ordinated with your outfit, help complete the overall look beautifully.

Belly Makeup & Skin

A well-moisturised belly and even skin tone photograph best. Light belly makeup is optional, but soft, natural skin always looks stunning on camera.

A Gentle Reminder!

Your maternity photoshoot is more than just pictures - it's an experience. Taking time for these little details is also a way to pamper yourself, slow down, and celebrate this season of motherhood. These memories will stay with you forever.

  • Soft fabrics and relaxed fits allow babies to move freely and stay calm during the session.
  • Bare feet are encouraged and photograph beautifully for milestone sessions.
  • For family portraits, coordinate outfits within the same neutral color palette rather than wearing identical colors.
  • Parents are encouraged to dress simply so the focus remains on the baby.
  • If shoes are part of the outfit, they must be clean and dust-free to protect our studio backdrop.

  • Well-fitted layers instantly elevate the look and create a clean, polished silhouette.
  • Monochrome or near-monochrome outfits help create a taller, more refined appearance on camera.

1. Focus on Expressions, Poses & Frames

  • Choose photos based on your expressions, body posture, and overall framing.
  • Don't worry about clarity, color, or brightness - those will be enhanced during post-production.
  • The images you see are straight out of the camera (unedited).

2. Low-Resolution Preview Notice

  • The online gallery (shared with you for selection) contains low-resolution .jpeg files to make viewing and uploading easier.
  • This may cause the photos to appear slightly dull or soft in color.
  • For best viewing, please increase your screen brightness to maximum.
  • The original high-resolution images are sharp, detailed, and retain true colors.

3. Backgrounds & Unwanted Objects

  • Please ignore distracting elements in the background.
  • Any unwanted objects, distractions, or blemishes will be removed during editing.
  • We ensure clean and polished final images.
  • You can make any specific request for editing at this stage. Please convey over call if you want any specific changes & get it clarified for what is possible.
